House to Vote on Resolution to Expel Congresswoman for Ethics Violations

Representative Cherfilus-McCormick faces a criminal indictment over financial dealings.

Representative Greg Steube of Florida is introducing a resolution to expel Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick of Florida from the House of Representatives. The lower chamber is expected to vote on the measure next week. A House Ethics Committee investigation into the congresswoman’s campaign finance violations and other financial dealings found evidence to support charges against Representative Cherfilus-McCormick.

The committee cited in its report “substantial evidence of conduct consistent with the allegations” in the indictment charging her, “as well as more extensive misconduct.”

Congressman Steube stated, “House Ethics findings detail more than two dozen counts of serious financial crimes.”

Representative Cherfilus-McCormick released a statement, saying, “I reject these allegations and remain confident the full facts will make clear I did nothing wrong.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick to be transparent regarding her financial dealings.
  • For Representative Steube as he seeks to expel his colleague over ethics allegations.
  • For wisdom for House Speaker Johnson as he presides over the lower chamber of Congress.
